FineEngineering Magazine covered IESYS’s role in one of Romania’s most technically demanding tunnel infrastructure projects currently underway: the intelligent transport and safety systems for the tunnels on section 2E of the Lugoj–Deva motorway. The project combines complex road tunnel construction with integrated traffic management and operational safety systems. It includes Tunnel 1, made up of two galleries of roughly 400 metres each, and Tunnel 2 — the most technically complex part of the project — with two main galleries of 1,700 and 1,800 metres respectively, built to Austrian tunnel standards given their length and operational requirements.
