Client: Craiova International Airport

Scope: Turnkey delivery of a fully integrated Baggage Handling System (BHS), including system integration, commissioning, and operational handover. The solution covers the departure zone, ensuring seamless interfacing with advanced security screening technologies (EDS and Dual-View X-Ray), centralized SCADA-based monitoring and control, and full integration with existing airport operational and IT systems.

Goal: To improve baggage security screening efficiency and operational reliability through a scalable, automated system architecture designed for high throughput, optimized baggage flow, full regulatory compliance with international aviation security standards, and future airport expansion.

IESYS solution

The solution integrates automated baggage transport infrastructure with advanced security screening technologies, including EDS systems and Dual-View X-Ray, all managed through a centralized SCADA-based monitoring and control platform. The system ensures seamless interfacing with airport operational and IT systems.

Real-time baggage tracking is enabled through ATR barcode readers at critical control points, ensuring full traceability across the entire process. A dedicated reconciliation room at Level 3 supports manual baggage inspection and passenger interaction workflows.

The architecture is modular and scalable, designed to support future terminal expansion, while ensuring compliance with EU aviation security standards.
